LUNCH!

December 2019

Many of my agent orange and disabled friends here never get to leave the shelter. We have been taking these guys out into their community for a lunch excursion for many years now. I do it every time I am here. As soon as I walk in, even the residents who are mute will gesture to me the eating sign and point out towards the gate. Again, something so simple yet must be something they look forward to with each of my visits. Thank you to donations for making this possible and providing them with some light and joy.

Playland Adventures

December 2019

Playland in the nearest town is a place they tell me they only get to come visit when Anna and Jason are in town. Watching them and their sheer joy at being children makes the effort and anxiety of trying to keep track of and not lose 48 little people worth it 😊. Thank you to all who donated to #missionnampossible and made this possible.

The Spirit of Giving

 25/12/19

This Christmas, I had a #party for 15 #families, 50 humans whose lives have been changed because of your generous #donations to mission nam’possible. We have amongst many many things, built 7 #houses, support 30 children with scholarships for their #education and have bought 32 #cows that help sustain these families. These families came out from the mountains on this rare occasion to eat and be merry and of course meet Gabriel. They ate a 10 course meal and each guardian and child received a very special card and friendship bracelet gift from a tiny friend from Gabriel’s centre.
Each child got some presents too- huge thanks to Sand and Stories Early Childhood Centre and Georgiana Mentis for their Xmas gifts. Huge thanks to everyone who helps support their scholarships, cow donations and house building!
Each of one of these families stories can be found on previous blog posts.

Over the last 9 years I have been told I am just one tiny human who couldn’t possibly make a dent in helping change the world. Standing in this restaurant watching 50 people whose lives have been changed because of us makes me beg to differ. We can all start with one human at a time. #bethechange #smallactsofkindnesscount #dowhatyoucan #payitforward #vietnam #breakthepovertycycle #missionnampossible

Merry Christmas to all.
